"pun was the last shining sun I could feel"

Kendrick Lamar had a good verse on that song. I enjoyed it.
But let's be real.
It wasn't some mindblowing next level shyt.

He essentially named a bunch of Rappers and then rhymed
"murder u nikkas"
with
"heard of u nikkas"

That's it? That's all it takes to remind a whole generation of rappers to take their craft serious?

Wale responds. On wax? No.
Meek Mill responds. On wax? No. "Im a street nikka" Oh ok. I could have sworn you were a rapper. A subpar one who just yells but still a rapper nonetheless.
Pusha T? "I hear you nikka loud and clear" Oh word? Crazy how u still haven't heard Ghoulish. (hes damn near 40 but he was mentioned by name)
and u KNOW drake and jcole aint saying shyt.

A whole generation raised by Jay-Z..who preach his excuses for biting and avoiding battles like its gospel

What's funny also is how many rappers who are "on" who wouldnt even be capable of retaliating.

If kendrick came out in the 90s he would not be receiving the attention he is getting now. It's like owning a today's Hyundai car in 1920 would have been some fly ass shyt compared to the available modes of transportation back then, with hip hop the situation is reversed as it continually regresses and therefore it takes less to impress, hence a Hyundai rapper can shine in today's market like he was a Bentley Mulsanne, but take him to the 90's and you see the nicca is in fact just a Hyundai. Ya dig?

You know..i feel like he's talented.
He wouldn't have said what he said in the 90s probably..but who does he have to fear in this day and age?

I ain't denying his talent breh, I am just saying in the 90s a lot of rappers would have outshone him easily, and as you correctly state, today the competition is weak that he can get away making the verse he made.

He said he would respond...Philly is the last safe heaven for hiphop.

& i can see both J cole & Drake saying something, especially Drake who stays poppin shyt.

You attacking the wrong rappers. nikkas like Chief Keef are the ones who don't take their craft serious.
