This will backfire horribly. We are in a different administration playing fast and loose with regulations.
I expect their tax exempt status to be gone by the end of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if the IRS is going through their past personal and corporate tax returns with a fine tooth comb the same They did while harassing the black fed board lady Lisa Cooke.
I think the big issue he has is that his church is based in DC and Trump has a lot more power in that city specifically. Hell, trump and his minions are petty enough to pull a false ice raid on a sunday morning, with all those agents he has swarming DC currently.

By law the Gov't can't do that. Either revoke tax exemption status for all religious institution or none at all
This church will have a case to sue but knowing the supreme court, they will probably rule in trump's favour

As I mentioned previously he's playing fast and loose with these regulations. Trump is currently revoking that status for colleges.
Rule of law is kinda shaky right now. And government protections are arbitrary.
By law he isnt allowed to use the military for law enforcement or deport US citizens or arbitrarily fire black fed board members but here we are in a reality where all these things are happening.
