spare me the sob story. He doesnt want to do it because it isnt great for business. They could easily do an angle where he turns heel and a sick child makes him regret doing so

A heel turn would be much better for business imo, but it's too late for that for anyone to care since he is on his way to the retirement home and ratings are in the toilet. Should've done it at his prime and if the WWE took their heads out their collective asses could've built someone to replace him as the top babyface.
