lol & its funny how they'll put that "if" there... as if to say any other team winning would legitimize the ring. If OKC had won last year they would've thrown that "invalid" talk in the bushes.
You play who they put on the court. I don't see anyone putting asterisks on the Spurs 98-99 season or those titles won during the Bill Russell Celtics era or the early 80's Lakers & Celtics for cruising through those years playing inferior competition.
