When will the middle class have a good electric car?
The next Tesla car will be the Model 3 and will be for the everyday person. It will cost around $30k according to Elon Musk. It's supposed to be announced next March but won't be available until either 2017 or 2018 depending on production time.

30K:patrice: when the 15-20 jumping off? Tesla can't be the only company doing this. Honda, Kia, Toyota need to get in this game.

what's holding up production? Is the tech just not their yet or are special interest stalling it. It feels like everyone should have an electric car by now

Breh Tesla knows they can sell tons of the Model S and X at a premium price a and drag their feet on a lower cost model.

I doubt we will see a $15-$20k electric car anytime soon. Other car makers really ain't trying to go all in with that electric car life. I honestly think they are waiting to see the response to the Model 3.

As for production time, Tesla has to build a giga factory in order to mass produce the Model 3, which will cost a lot of bread. When the Model S was announced people who had pre ordered it had to wait a couple years just to get it. That's why Tesla is building a huge factory.

shyt I don't work for Tesla playboy lol. They have to design it first and right now seems they are more concerned about this and the model s. You just going to have to stack you bread up if you can't do 30 or get you a used volt cause that's probably as low as they go for a minute since most people can afford a 30-40k car

Never. 30K base is the best we're gonna get for an electric whip.

That damn windshield :whew:

More info on it
Price
Tesla’s Elon Musk continues to express a firm commitment to delivering the Model 3 with a purchase price of $35,000 before any incentives. Of course, only one of the Model 3 variants needs to be at this price for Tesla to make good on its goal. As a point of reference, the base MSPR for the Tesla Model S is $69,900—but the average transaction price, according to Morgan Stanley, is nearly $105,000. Adam Jonas, auto analyst with Morgan Stanley, believes the average transaction price of the Model 3 will be between $55,000 and $60,000.

Regardless, the availability of any 200-mile all-electric model for $35,000—which could equate to a net price as low as $25,000 after federal tax credits and a state rebate (in California)—would be a major accomplishment.

By the time the Model 3 goes on sale, there could be competing 200-mile EVs from General Motors, Nissan and others—as well as very broad range of plug-in hybrids and extended-range electric cars from some of the finest automobile manufacturers in the world. Any useful evaluation of pricing for the Tesla Model 3 must consider factors—such as competing models and option packages—that are unknown at this time.

so it's going to stay somewhat a luxury item. It seems the left wing government California for one would try to fund more innovation. Everyone should have access to an electric car by now.

Yeah, it's gonna be on the same page as the 3 series bimmer and a C class Benz. Definitely be on the look out for it if your funds are right, this dude Elon Musk is trying to change the game with these cars.

"Morgan Stanley’s current forecast is for 150,000 annual units of the Model 3 by 2020. Elon Musk’s stated goal is 500,000 by that time."

These shyts are gonna be so hard to get :lupe:
