It's lines like that which shows me an emcee actually loves hip hop. I can vibe to those types all day, any setting
Right. I’ll never claim Hip-Hop is dead, but even in the underground nikkas just not that nice like this anymore. I haven’t heard any MC that gave me that feeling in years. That’s not to say I haven’t heard anybody dope, but THAT kinda dope? Nah

Even when most cats said he fell off in the mid 2000's, I still thought Yasiin put out great music
Only project of his I don't like is that last album he put out, Dec 99th.
But I thought The New Danger, True Magic and The Ecstatic was all great. :wow:
These 2 songs right here are in my top 10 of favorite Mos Def songs:ohlawd:

Center self, inner self
Takes me back to 2000 when I was 16 and worked at a theme park as my first job. They used to have that song on repeat at the park.

In his prime, Mos def was truly amazing. One of the most talented artists who could have put together an unbelievable catalog, but instead went the acting route.

I swear I'm the only 1 who thinks Yasiin's catalog is amazing
I feel like similar to Nas with Illmatic, everybody wanted him to keep making Black On Both Sides again and again and Yasiin just evolved and moved forward.

The New Danger = DOPE and a lot of cats ain't fukk wit it cause Yasiin was coming with more singing and the music won't just hip hop.
True Magic = DOPE (And yes, I know that album is viewed as a throwaway album to get off Geffen Records but that album had some nice joints on it!)
The Ecstatic = Damn near classic to me. fukk it, it is a classic. His best album behind Black On Both Sides

Only album that he did that's flat out wack is that Dec 99th.

But Yasiin got a dope ass catalog.
