This was a Successful Season for the New York Knicks

they were last year's Miami Heat, in terms of national attention throughout the whole year.

They were completely relevant, they dominated the headlines from Linsanity, to Coach getting fired, Amare's brother, hurting his hand, Melo etc.

For a team that was completely irrelevant and out of the national conscious for the past 8-9 years, I say this was a good season.

Lin was a feel good story. The national microscope on both teams are completely different. Let Miami have gotten the 6th or 7th seed and bounced in the first round last year. We wont even be talking about the Knicks next week

I have to disagree. Overall, getting the 7 seed and being bounced in 5 in the first round is not what they were shooting for. They were expecting a much higher seed than 7. Once they got matched up with Miami their season was over so we can't really hold that against them.

However, on a smaller level, I think they played Miami well. Winning 1 game in that series is the equivalent to winning 4 so props to Melo for getting that W considering.

You had experts/analysts saying it would be a 6 or 7 game series. Nobody was picking NY to win it but folks thought it would be interesting series. AI leading the Sixers to a win over the Lakers was legendary.
