It's amazing how many people use(d) this. When they changed the laws a few years ago, I was at a CPA event to learn more about it. The room was full of businessowners and high level corporate people. They were legitimately stuck on this topic for nearly 30 mins because people were so pissed about the IRS taking it away and people asking so many questions.

The checks are going to a lot of people who don't need it and are not that helpful for the people who really really need it. I don't really see the need to up it unless you lower the upper threshold by a lot.
