Because it canonically erases a lot of characters, or poorly uses them. I don’t see how they could reintroduce em besides another reboot.
Kai, Onaga, Chaos Realm, Order Realm, never or hardly mentioned. Kano, Ermac, Mileena, etc confirmed dead. Either they come back as zombies and get revived through narrative bs or they reboot it.
