I lowkey feel like that game, Crash Team Racing and Diddy kong Racing still shyts on Mario Kart. Something about Mario Kart just feels empty, like you do a cup or two and that's it.
It feels as if Nintendo is just coasting on the name these days. I'm playing World and while it looks beautiful and can be fun, I can't help but feel like been there done that while playing. I honestly wish they'd make a Nintendo Kart racer with a hub based world for the campaign and at least make it a much more bombastic game. Don't get me wrong World is a great game, but after a few cups I didn't feel like I was compelled to put more time in as a SP mostly gamer. That's my issue, Mario Kart has been lacking when it comes to content for SP gamers.
Diddy Kong Racing had fun things to do outside of the racing(hidden collectibles), boss races and the hub world made it feel like you were on an adventure.
Sonic All Star Racing Transformed was fukking insane. That game on PC was legit a problem. 120fps at 4K was eye melting.
Crash Team Racing was just as fun as Sonic and that was an even older game.
