What are your thoughts/feelings about this album? I know we've only heard snippets and live performances, but i like what i've heard. Plus, knowing how detailed Kanye's production is, you know the records will sound a lot better in CDQ. New Slaves and Black Sknhead are both pretty dark and angry, but "Awesome" sounds 808ish and the "Bound" snippet on his website sounds College Dropout-ish. While i'm not entirely sure what direction the album will go in, the main reason Ye is a GOAT is because he always reinvents himself, pushes boundaries, and gives us something we haven't heard before.
This promotion has seemed fairly minimal on his part. No videos, no singles, no gimmicks, no controversy, and no grandstanding. Feels like he just popped up with the "June Eighteen" tweet and left the fans to generate buzz and promote the album, which is kinda cool.
Sales wise, MBDTF did 496k first week, and i see Yeezus doing something close to that.
Musically, I absolutely think Yeezus will be on par with his other five albums. To be honest, i just don't believe he is capable of putting out a crappy (solo) album, and i won't believe that until it actually happens.
Thoughts? Feelings? Expectations?
We eat in 2 weeks brehs.
