I was just about to make a thread about the parody of this song called Roaches


I noticed Ur thread came up in the related threads and I said fukk it... Since nobody replied to this thread I prolly wouldn't get replies either

But yeah Rumors was Classic and so was the parody of it

The irony when the Roaches joint dropped there was a big Rumor that it was Eddie Murphy singing it lol

This song time stamps my childhood. As does Roaches and various other bobby jimmy jawns. hair or weave was my jam.

I'm more partial to Situation #9 myself, but that's a whole different discussion.

But to be real, Rumors, along with The Rain and Don't Disturb This Groove pretty much laid the groundwork for the rise of New Jack Swing in 1987.

The coldest thing i never noticed was how Jay King (Club Nouveau producer) basically jacked everything from Mike from the songs to the album artwork to the 1st 2 albums listen to this other Timex joint and see if it don't sound reaal familiar on two other big ones...
