Don't associate malice to what can be incompetence and ignorance. Some of our politicians are as clueless as they look. It's not an act. Also, in regards to Trump, Trump issue is that he lies and blatantly self serving politically, that this undermines folks trust in him. People are literally less likely to believe information if it came from Trump vs the exact same information coming from someone else because the dude lied so blatantly constantly. He was the epitome of someone who if they told you the sky is blue, you'd have to go outside to check. That's why it isnt a good idea to constantly going around acting like a shythead, because even when you're right or have good ideas, people won't listen, because your rep is bad.
If Obama said the same shyt Trump did, people will be more willing to listen because when Obama said something, he wasn't always trying to suck his own dikk or just throw out bullshyt because he is in constant fight mode with the other side.
There’s a lot you have to look at first you’re talking about banning a privately owned company and I don’t think we have any laws that we can use right now. Second, they probably don’t want to give away how they figure it out the Chinese are using TikTok to spy. Third, I bet there’s a lot of the American people who don’t even want it to be banned even knowing they’re being spied on.
At the end of the day, when you communicate you're dealing with human beings. Credibility means something breh. If you squander your credibility, folks are less likely to listen to you. This is why, it's dumb to act a certain way because when you're right about shyt, people by their very nature aren't going to listen to you if you're known as a liar. Smart people understand this is a normal human bias/psychology and so they tailor their communication towards it to make sure their audience is more receptive. He failed at this so all the "he's right!" Bullshyt after the fact doesn't mean anything g because he couldn't get people to buy into what he is saying to move them to action at the time. But he was telling the truthnot my fault everyone thought he was lying about that shyt. Also it wasn't just him that said that at the time the white media was showing how tik tok worked but then it just faded out.

Variation of crying wolf behavior. Same idea here as far as how other human beings will take in your information. Being right doesn't mean shyt if people don't listen to you. Outside of filling vindicated after the fact or going "hahah told you" if you actually want to move people to action, you need more than smug self satisfaction after the fact.

The media went to shyt under Trump. Trump is good at one thing and alwats has been, which is playing the media like a fiddle. The press, because it generated tons of engagement, became reactionary in scrutinizing Trump and he gave them plenty of material every day to work with (ie. Shining UV light into the body to cure Covid). As a result, objective reporting took a backseatOf course I agree 100% but I'm not talking about what trump said I'm referring to other officials & media outlets that brought it up tootrump at the time wasn't the only one saying that
I haven't found anyone as compelling and at the same time easy to understand and accessible as dude on any other appThis is where people go wrong. It's the content creator that holds the value as you point out but apps like TikTok fool people into believing that they are necessary to spread this kind of content. When really it's just the internet that is needed for that and there are many ways to spread and access such content that doesn't involve centralizing data and power with the big tech companies offering these apps.
They exploit and encourage people's reliance on the convenience of a quick easy sign-up when only a few small extra steps and a little effort can give these creators and their audience independence and way more control over how their content is used.
Don't associate these apps and companies with the possibility of accessing all this amazing content. It's only the principle of how the internet works that is responsible for that.
“We gotta ban TikTok, they’re using it to spy on me.” Says the person posting on their smartphone that’s MADE IN CHINA.![]()
