I thought American politics were screwed up :dead:
Dude played president on TV and they elected him :russ:

Servant of the People (Ukrainian: Слуга народу, Russian: Слуга народа, sometimes translated as Servant of the Nation) is a Ukrainian political satire comedy television series created and produced by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who stars as Vasyl Petrovych Goloborodko, a high-school history teacher in his thirties who is unexpectedly elected President of Ukraine after a viral video filmed by one of his students shows him making a profane rant against government corruption in his country.[1][2][3]

Al Franken was a comedian for like 40 years and he was just fine as a politician.

Ronald Reagan was an actor (and a bad one) and he was President.

Sad state of affairs.
In America the reason is because Imagery is what matters the most, not substance.

In the case of Ukraine it was luck, right place right time, ukranian voters frustration with Mr Poroshenko and zelensky playing a likeable president on tv around the time.....shyt just happened. Everyone just threw their support (unprecendented) at the new guy and he ran with it all the way. It was more to do with the fact that there were no good option so the people said why not.
