This is cool and all...
but why not give money to help build infrastructure in some smaller economies? Help bankrupted cities like Detroit or cities in poverty. I mean, it's his bread and he at least cares enough to share with less fortunate but like others have said, charities sometimes don't give the aid to the people they want to serve.
Why not say all that money will go to some "Shark Tank" type people who make/have inventions that can help humanity? Help create jobs with that cash, so the money flips over and those that it helped can help themselves and get out of the rut they're in...

thats the thing i dont get about these rich people giving their money to profit charities. Charity doesnt help the poor to become self sufficient, it just further feeds into their dependency on aid. The dude should be investing his money in the thirdworld and helping African governments attract foreign investment not to mention shaping gov policy. The dudes smart and he seems like he cares. I just hope his efforts wont be in vain.
