Sorry brehs. No Southern producer has put on for hip hop more than Timbo. Dude brought the Memphis bounce to the mainstream when shyt was underground as fukk. Polished the shyt, added a gang more shyt, and made some of the most avant-garde accessible music in hiphop/pop history. The whole game right now is basically one long Timbaland instrumental with nikkas mumbling/blurting randomness over the beat (Missy Elliott, anyone?)

In terms of producers from The South, Premo, The Neptunes, Organized Noize, Earthtone 3, and Mike Dean are his only legit competition. Respect to Mannie, Pimp C, N.O. Joe and Paul & Juicy J and Beats By The Pound because they are dope too. That first group is a whole other tier of producers though IMO.
