Counter-strike source and 1.6 are one of the most played games on steam to this day. Aint nobody playing those old ass UT games or quake.

Counter-strike changed the game and ushered in the competitive gaming scene.

The same amount of people who have played counter strike is about the same amount of people who used your mattress before you bought it so you amd your wife and kids could lay on it and sometimes use it as shelter.

I'm not talking about sales, I'm talking about overall game hours played, the fact that it is still one of the top played games on steam shows its impact. Not just Counter-strike Source but Counter-strike 1.6 as well, if you add both of them together it probably is the most played game on steam.

Single player wise though I think Medal of Honor might be the GOAT.. Storming the beach at normandy was

Aliens vs Predator 2 also had one of the GOAT fps single players.
