If Curry was seriously legit about the assist part of his game, I'd say him. But seeing as how Kobe was pretty solid on defense in his better days and he could score more than Curry + his assist point total combined, I want to say Kobe.

Curry definitely needs those moving screens though, I can't forget that.

We never saw 2006 or 2007 Kobe with a good team. Really hard to compare.

Good teams can magnify a great player's strengths.

2008 Kobe had scaled his game back tremendously IMO, probably for the better.

I'd take Curry now over Bryant at his best. A better, more impact offensive player with a game that is far more conducive to a free flowing equal opportunity offense. Kobe was a better defender, but certainly didn't have the impact of an anchor which is necessary for any perimeter player to be argued over Curry (LeBron, Jordan). Will forever be confused as to why he earned all defense nominations so many times over the likes of a far superior defender in Andre Iguodala, who was left off the teams entirely.
