Tips to help you fall asleep

Besides smoking/drinking or using any other type of drugs... How do you shut off your brain and fall asleep faster?

I swear, I never had this problem. I was always able to go to sleep within 5-10 mins of lying on my bed, but in the past few weeks, shyt has happened and it makes me think and doesn't let me sleep.

What I gotta do?

Whatever you're thinking about, just write it down or you can type it in a notes or word processing application. Sometimes you just need a "brain dump". I suffer from anxiety and when I get so worried that I can't sleep, I start writing. If I can get my thoughts organized and a plan in place, then I can sleep. If you drink caffeine give it up for a few days to see if that helps. Exercising at night never helps me, in fact it makes it worse.
