Battlefield maps were always big enough to handle 64 players, the consoles couldn't handle that kind of load...Battlefield 3 maps were only big enough for 24-32 players but we still jammed 64 on PC on them mafukkas![]()
Lots of armchair game designing going on in here. I'd suggest playing before judging a something as insignificant as a number in a vacuum.
Vince is right - we tried a huge amount of playercounts (all the way down to 1v1 and up quite high) and designed the maps, gameplay mechanics, and entire experience around which played best. If anyone wants to chase the numbers game, perhaps we're not the experience they're after? I dunno.
And FYI, for amount of stuff happening at once in a map you'll be hard pressed to find a game that keeps the action higher. I literally have to stop playing every few rounds because my heart just can't take it some times. Remember, you can get out of your Titan and let it roam on AI mode - meaning there can be 12 Pilots wallrunning around, 12 Titans stomping below, and dozens of AI doing their thing.
Oh, and I keep seeing people thinking we've got "bots" when we talk about AI. Thats not how they are. The AI in Titanfall are not replacements for human players. Our playercount is not 6v6 because of AI - AI play their own role in the game and are a different class of character in the game.
Can't wait! Only a couple months until speculative threads like this are gone and people are actually talking about their experiences with the game. Its truly fun stuff, and I hope everyone at least gives it a try.

Titanfall is made by the original COD devs and their maps have never been on the scale of battlefield...Plus this game is essentially 24...The mechs are controlled by the AI...So again I don't know if the maps will be big enough to allow more players...You don't want a cluster situation with big ass mechs...
I doubt it will have more players. I believe its how the game is designed. Remember unlike last gen these consoles are not held back by ram etc. Along with the 6 vs 6 you will have cloud based A.I. also running around plus the mechs.if its anything like other console games on PC itll have more players or at least should... it needs at least 12 vs 12 on PC..
Lag was sort of a what kept the skilled players on top, nothing better than killing host on a laggy connection with no activeSeriously bruh...
How the fukk can you possibly sit here and tell me a laggy 4v4 TPS shotgunfest where the host had a big advantage is more fun than the GOAT twitch shooter ?
This isn't even up for debate, in no way shape or form is GoW 1 multiplayer fukking with UT99 let alone any other UT game...It's laughable how bad GoW multiplayer was and even EPIC admitted it...
They ruin that game so much with updates tho once 2 came out

Yeah I love battlefield for what it is, but I dont want every game trying to be like it, I think we only need one game thats like that, but I hope so too, getting squads together on a 4v4 would be sooo dope, but I think they found a good balance with 6v6 it seems like they are trying to make the funnest game possible, I do hope they succeed..everybody who's played it seems to love it...im trying to keep my expectations down tho.DOPE....glad this shyt ain't bout to be another battlefield type shooter. fukk all that 50 vs 50 shyt....this game is def gonna be active in tourneys now...Hopefully it has some 4v4 playlists.
