Anthem Sports Drops “TNA” Name — New Name Now In Place

Anthem Sports & Entertainment have made the decision to drop the name “TNA” and will be calling the product just Impact Wrestling moving forward.

The belief is that the name “TNA” has a negative connotation and Anthem wants to move away from that. Other slight changes are expected to be made as Anthem settles into the company as the new owners.

For the longest they seemed to take a step towards dropping the "TNA" name but then would not make the leap. That resulted in the confusing past few years where some things were still called TNA while other things were being called Impact Wrestling.

Not from top to bottom at the company level though. Even the website was a mix of tna.com and impact.com for the longest.
Anthem is finally making it official instead of the half-assed way Dixie was doing it.

Now I am curious to see if they re-design the belts that still have TNA on them since the only one without it is the Grand Champion belt.

If they wanted it to be fresh and emphasize a new direction then it should have been something completely different.
