If they wanted it to be fresh and emphasize a new direction then it should have been something completely different.

Most people still gonna call it TNA

A completely different name would have been a bigger pain in the ass than switching it to Impact.

As it stands those Universal crowds are still going to be chanting "TNA! TNA!" at their tv tapings.
