I'm supporting because wrestling needs competition, and anyone saying otherwise doesn't have a clue. The funny thing is that you don't have to pick a side. I guarantee that back in the day a lot of the people who ordered wrestlemania also ordered starrcade.

AEW plans to offer a real alternative to WWE programming. One of the major criticisms about WWE has been their scripted promos. Cody claimed that "you might not see one scripted promo" on their television.

"When it comes to promos, if we invested you, we already know your voice," Cody said. "We just want to put the voice out there for more people to hear. There's great coaches we have, great collaborators. Guys like Jim Ross, guys like Billy Gunn, a bunch of guys I can't name. This might get back all those fans who abandoned wrestling after WCW folded. WWE bout to be on that “just sign your life, I mean your name on the contract” steeze.

I doubt it. WCW has been gone almost 20 years. The fans that were WCW fans to the bitter end were mostly people who grew up watching JCP (and maybe even Georgia if they were old enough) on WTBS and they never came back. The idea that those people, now in their 50s-60s or older, would come back for the Young Bucks and Joey Janella is pretty


On the other hand, they have a good chance of getting WWE fans who abandoned wrestling in the past few years to give it at least a look.
