It's being reported in Japan that current WWE Superstar Tensai was making $100,000 per year in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). To lure him away, WWE reportedly offered him $400,000 per year.

I have always said, if you are on the main roster you are making AT LEAST 250,000 a year (JTG/Curt Hawkins types) and that you pay just goes up from there. So someone as pretty much useless as Tensai, who makes like 2 appearances all month on TV, this is why people go to WWE and stay in WWE even when there careers are going nowhere.

I mean I am talking base salary.

You are right with all the deductions, but there all additions to their salary like merchandise, house show money, and PPV payoffs, not like those two are getting any of that but they could some day lol.

And Tensai did come in with a push, and he got a good salary, but few get that high, most are between 250 and 400.

Oh I totally agree with you. People on here be openly laughing at me when I say salaries, acting like they are not even making six figures or some stupid shyt like that. bytch, they on TV, and they work 300 dates a year, so you are telling me someone like Heath Slater or Jinder Mahal are making like 125,000 a year No.

For most of these dudes it's all about downside guarantees. If you're in WWE and you're injured all year and don't wrestle, you make a minimum amount (which would almost always be above $100K), but every time you wrestle you add on to that minimum. You're adding on even more if you appear on PPVs. If you're healthy all year in WWE and wrestle regularly, you're almost definitely making more than $250K even if you're pretty much a jobber.

At this stage of his career Tensai's smart to take the cash. For an extra $300K per year, his place on the card isn't that important.

Nah, if this is true it's because they had every intention of pushing Tensai as a monster (and they did until they gimmick didn't get over).

The guys coming up from FCW (now NXT) are not making anywhere near $250K.
