Apparently you’re supposed to get it with white rice not rice and peas

I always get it with rice and peas cuz I like the flavor but some real yardies over heard me and told me that ain’t the way.

I laugh and get ready to pay, the same yardie then moves me out the way and gets in front of me “white rice not rice and peas”

They all start laughing. He turns around and looks me dead in the eye then gets out the way so I can finish paying for my order.


I get home and try it the right way they said.

I mean it’s Ocay but sometimes rules are meant to be broken

There's no right way. Alotta Jamaican's like it with white rice tho. Trinis as well.

lol how you gone tell the ppl that popularized the dish it’s not the right way. Any curry you eat is supposed to be with white rice unless there is none then you can substitute for whatever rice is there. Im from the Caribbean and all the islands that I know about make curry with white rice.

White rice is the proper order with curry dishes in general. Chances are the spot is missing about half to 2/3 of the menu anyhow.
