Why is everything so expensive when you have such a varying climate? You can grow literally everything. I would faint in the supermarket.
Yes Brexit was a bad idea, and yes the war in Ukraine is causing things to go up in price, yes inflation is out of control, yes Tories (our version of Republicans) is fukking up the country. All of the above is their fault. But Good God!
I know corn and dairy is subsidised but can anyone help me to understand why everything cost so much?

I don’t know, maybe it’s some money tricks these monopolized companies are playing, price gouging basically

And I’m sure it’s some geopolitical reasons to that we don’t know about

If you think you are paying a lot there is because you have not seen the prices here in Brazil
Both countries that have all temperate zones, so why is it more expensive than others. In a country where everything has to be shipped in; I get it but in both of these countries raw produce like carrots, onions, potatoes, butter shouldn’t be expensive as it can be grown locally. Unless there is some kind of bug, bad weather or something but even so a lot of raw produce is grown and kept in storage for a year or so.

Also imagine how many times a single dollar gets taxed and generates money for the government.

You go to work and earn money:
Dollars get taxed when you earn it

Go to buy something:
Those dollars get taxed again

Person/Company who sold the item to you:
Taxed when they collect the money.
Taxes when they spend that dollar.

A lot of money is made for each dollar spent isn't it?

So why does the world still look the way it does with trillions of dollars moving everywhere and getting taxed?

Shouldn't that money be going back to the people somehow?

Some people are getting awfully rich.
