Opening took me back to when Clark was checking up on the crew’s sled dogs in The Thing.
Fantastic tone setter. shyt’s comedic at the right moments which makes it a good entryway for a body horror joint IMO, the flick definitely could’ve gotten freakier if it wanted to. Cronenberg would’ve taken it there and his influences do show out. The cult shyt didn’t do much for me but this was still a really good directorial debut from Shanks.
