I've got no beef with Goff. he's having a good year. But he's not been far and away better than hurts as a passer like you're making it out to be. He's got 1 more TD, 250 or so more yards, and 1 less pick.

It didnt really take shape til about 2011. You could still play old school, physical defense. See the Ravens, Steelers, Bears, Jets etc..in 2005, there were only 2 4000 yard passers in the whole league and there were still a healthy amount of DBs making life hell for QBs. Peyton Manning threw 6 ints in a SNF game in 2007. Pennington threw 4 ints vs Bmore in the 2008 Wild Card. The pinball, 7 on 7 era began in 2011.

Man, wasnt?!?!.. it was so bad that Matt Flynn threw 6 td passes in his first start!! Vs a division rival and playoff team!!! Cam going for 400 in his debut and he isnt even a great passer like that. 2011 was where it all changed.

Add 359 yards rushing and 9 tds to that. Also making late down situations yardage virtually irrelevant. There is a reason Philly so able to control the 4th quarter and win these close games.

Philly starts every series needing 9 yards in 3 plays not 10. That’s a helluva an advantage.
