Why isn't UT going after Peterson?
They doubt he would take the job.
Because washington just put a TEN YEAR CONTRACT in front of him...they got cash and are desperate to keep this train going. Its a waste of their time.

Petersen has never expressed an iota of interest in any job that's not on the west coast
Peterson is a herb. He's comfortable in the Pacific Northwest. I can't blame him.

Reading the replies in this thread like 
LSU blew it, hired Marty Schottenheimer when a potential star was there for the taking
Texas and LSU may both have crazy, high minded fanbases, but only one of those fanbases expects to beat Alabam every year.
This move by Herman just made the most sense.

Gotta let it play out. All LSU needs is a competent QB and they right there with the top programs so I'd hold off on all the blew it talk.

I actually like that they stuck with Orgeron.. Those kids have been balling ever since he took over. I think he's always been an underrated coaching candidate, usually overlooked for the "hot name". I'm glad he got the nod this time, I'm interested to see what he does with it
i like the guy, hes got alot of passion and definately knows how to get players behind him. is he an SEC winning coach? idk, thats the expectation there once you taste those titles its a high bar. hope he proves me wrong
