Idk, this seems more like a shytty state case than him being innocent.
A lot of circumstantial evidence pointing to him including having the victims items and selling them after the murder.
Not a solid death penalty case but this nikka was in on the murder at the very least.

How was Williams convicted?
During Williams' trial, the prosecution based its case on the testimonies of two people, Henry Cole and Laura Asaro. Cole had shared a cell with Williams after he had been taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in Gayle's murder. Cole said Williams had confessed to murdering the 42-year-old woman.
The other testimony was given by Laura Asaro, a convicted drug addict, who was Williams' short-term girlfriend at the time of the murder. She claimed, among other things, to have seen scratches on Williams neck that were made by the victim.
so a drug addict and a cellmate testimony did the brother in...he had to have a fukked up lawyer who got 20 cases and decided to break a deal with the DA office....

They've overturned it after the media picked up on it. He's still alive. However, I'm sure if that petition wasn't started and if the blogs didn't post about it they would have most likely gone through with the execution.
