The 80s was crazy. No filter and no PC shyt at that time. shyt motherfukkas was still smoking inside buildings (restaurants, bowling alleys, schools, office buildings, police stations, mail rooms, hospitals, malls) and airplanes. Am I gonna cry and lose my shyt over this? NO. Do I suspect Tony Robbins and every other cac as SWS? You got damn right. 1980 was only 16 years since the Civil Rights Act was passed of course cacs were openly cacing hard as hell then.:manny:

The delusion of cacs.

This is a common cac talking point where the undertone of "its only a word! You can't let a word control you!!" is they believe that Black people are so stupid and emotional that they allow a word to rile them up, not realizing or even caring enough to realize that being called ****** is an attack on the personhood of African Americans and an attempt to remind them of their place in White Supremacy.

He really probably thought he said some groundbreaking shyt to Black people on some
"Look at how i showed these jungle bunnies how to overcome their own savage nature and rationally control their emotions :mjpls:"

He didn't directed the n word at anyone.

The video provides no indication of an attempt to remind blacks of anything.

So your point is moot.

you're an idiot.

the whole context of the video was he was relaying a story about how he "helped" some Black attendees at one of his events by "reminding" them the n-word "is only a word that doesn't have any real power :troll:"

cacs do this all the time. They think Black folks getting emotional at the N word is out of not having emotional stability.

Its arrogant, ignorant, and insulting to not understand the significance of the n-word usage from cacs.

Thats my point.

In the context I'm not mad at it. I do think that despite the historical significance, black people have to learn not to get triggered by that word and let it knock you off your path.

That's not saying racism doesn't exist, or black people should stop complaining about x,y,z, but imo anything that takes energy away from progression and moving towards excellence is wasted time. To the point where I'm starting to even block out all the negative stories in the media about so and so black person had x,y,x done to them. We know that white america is still quite racist and will pull all types of funny style shyt, that's known. I'm not gonna spend time and energy dwelling on it.

Some folks will be on the front lines calling people out for every infraction and trying to convince racists not to be racist, and I applaud them and think they're a necessary element of progress. But I would like to see far more black people putting their entire focus on building black businesses and educating the black community, and working on building the culture. I want to see people being proactive as opposed to reactive.

So in that context I can get where he was trying to go with it. fukk worrying about that word, success is the best revenge. I don't think he was using the word with mal-intent, but I guess everyone will have their own interpretation.

1. I think he's right.:sas1:. A lot of reactions to derogatory terms seems to be drawn from unresolved insecurity and feelings of inferiority. It doesn't invalidate the fact that it has negative connotations, but I feel that an internal resolution (like the one that Tony was suggesting in the video) should be the talking point, rather than expect the world to change.

2. your talking points on the "sensitivity of words" is only being used to benefits these Liberal, feminist, and lgbtq agendas. Black people are being used as the face of outrage and PC culture, while deriving ZERO benefit.

Self-help guru Tony Robbins is on the defensive in the wake of recent BuzzFeed reports that nine women accused him of sexual misconduct and that he was filmed using racial slurs in the 1980s.

Robbins is also out of one of his jobs now that Creative Planning, a $38 billion registered investment adviser based in Overland Park, Kan., has severed ties with him, InvestmentNews reports.

The firm’s quick decision to eliminate Robbins’ position, chief of investor psychology, and remove him from its advisory board following the accusations, has won praise from marketing professionals and advisers.

“There are takeaways and lessons that other RIAs can learn about how to take action when something like this happens to their brand,” April Rudin, president of financial services marketing firm The Rudin Group, tells the publication. “There’s a woman issue here and there’s a brand issue here, and when these things come up it’s important to take swift action.”

Robbins officially joined Creative Planning in March 2016 with the goals of training advisers to better manage clients’ emotional needs and raising awareness about broader financial literacy efforts.

The firm, which disclosed its decision last week in an updated Form ADV, did not respond to InvestmentNews’ request for comment.

A representative for Robbins declined to comment, but the popular life coach and author has posted a video statement saying the facts don’t support the BuzzFeed reports.
