I don't know... To my eyes the natives which populate(d) the Americas are not of the same stock. I can believe most northern tribes are the descendants of central asians who crossed the Bering strait during the last ice age but to my eyes central and south american native peoples have more mysterious origins. If Polynesians could sail island to island and populate the pacific then I have no trouble believe that Africans , Polys or Melanesians could have sailed to south america in an independent effort from other, older arrivals.

The list was specifically talking about civilizations from the old world that probably reached the New World before Columbus. The people who made the list are already aware people who crossed the land bridge first discovered the Americas.
