Only project I've mostly played is Carti's mixtape, his adlibs and voice is what prevented me from listening to the whole shyt initially but man he really has the dopest beats this year. Nothing else has stood out to me.

Top 5 Tracks
1. Magnolia - Playboi Carti
2. Location - Carti
3. Final Destination - The Underachievers
4. Wokeuplikethis* - Carti
5. Mask Off - Future

You hear Renaissance by Underachievers? Not a great project but besides "Final Destination" I dug the beats to "Eyes Wide Open" and "Break The System"

I'mma just list other tracks I added to my playlist to this year: KMT, Gilligan, Drowning, New Choppa, Yah, DNA, Element, Ghost Ride(Rocky), The Mattress(Rocky), Don't Get Too High, Kill Jay-Z, Rake It Up

Good list, breh. I think Carti has the strongest hip hop project this year without question. Wokeuplikethis and Magnolia are the best songs of the year, and Location/New Choppa are also cool. I like Carti's voice but his adlib style is limited as fukk. It prevents the songs from hitting that next level.

Thanks for the recommendation breh. UA stay getting slept on. I don't like a lot of their songs but they got some really good songs. I checked out those songs and they didn't do much for me. "Break The System" was the best of the bunch :yeshrug:

Totally forgot about "Gilligan". I played that

"Dont Get Too High." - breh, it's insane how close we are in taste. I thought this was easily the best track on that lackluster album.

Those Kendrick tracks are decent. I stand by the statement that DAMN is Kendrick's best album, period.

Rocky floated on Mattress, Ghost Ride and New Choppa. If he released something, I'd say he was this year's best rapper.

I like the beat to 4:44.

2. 21 Savage - Bank Account (dark beat that kinda reminds me of an kid song)
3. Young thug - Hercules (kinda metro signature for me imo)
4. Gucci Mane - Both (he really knows how to use those bass breh)

Because it's not that good breh :yeshrug: It's not a terrible beat but it's just not that interesting. It sounds kinda like a rehash of Mask Off with less interesting percussion.

Bank Account is an instant standout. I wonder if they made that during the Savage Mode days and just held onto it for the next album.
