As 2016 comes to a close, tech enthusiasts have much to look forward to in 2017. These are the highly-anticipated gadgets to keep an eye on next year from top tech companies, including Apple, Tesla and Samsung.

iPhone 7s

Apple will update its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices in 2017 to "iPhone 7s" and "iPhone 7s Plus," according to recent rumors. The company is rumored to release three new iPhones next year, a 4.7-inch model with a single-lens camera and LCD display, a 5.5-inch model with a dual-lens camera and LCD display as well as an all-new OLED model with a dual-lens camera. Next year’s lineup might also include an all-new red color along with the current Black, Jet Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver shades. The phones also were rumored to be feature a bezel-less design.

Galaxy S8
The Galaxy S8 could come with an advanced type of fingerprint scanner that will be embedded into the display instead of a physical home button. After the Galaxy Note 7 recall, the company will need to roll out successful smartphone models next year. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to come with various features, such as a Snapdragon 835 processor with 6/8GB RAM. The smartphone is expected to come with an edge-to-edge full OLED display and all-glass body. The device is also rumored to be highly water-resistant with an IP68 certification. As for the phone’s security, Samsung is expected to implement a display embedded fingerprint scanner.

X Box 2: Project Scorpio
The Xbox 2: Project Scorpio will be released in late 2017. The gadget is expected to be the Microsoft’s most powerful gaming console ever — even more powerful than the PlayStation 4 Pro. Some of the features the Xbox 2: Project Scorpio is expected to include are: 4K game compatibility, VR compatibility, powerful GPU, and the Xbox 2 is expected to be compatible with Xbox One content. The console is expected to cost $500-$600.

Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch, which was revealed in October, can be used as a portable and at-home device. The console is placed on the Nintendo Switch Dock that connects the system to the TV. When the Nintendo Switch is lifted from the dock, the system automatically goes on portable mode. Gamers can play simultaneously whether in their living room or out on the street. When the Nintendo Switch is on portable mode gamers can play by removing detachable Joy-Con controllers on the side of the console. The official price of the console will be announced until Nintendo’s event in January and the device will be available in March.

Tesla Model 3
Elon Musk revealed in the spring the Model 3, the company’s mass-market oriented car. The Model 3 will be Tesla’s most affordable car till date, priced at $35,000. The car is expected to seat five, people and come with advanced Autopilot hardware and software. Tesla says the Model 3 will run 215 miles on a single charge and go from 0-60 miles per hour in under 6 seconds. Production for the Model 3 is expected to begin mid-2017, Tesla says.

I'm undecided on the galaxy s8. I usually get odd number releases but i might consider upgrading from this s7 edge later in the summer if it acts up more. Only thing that really interests me here is the Nintendo switch. Definitely anti iPhone and I already got an x1. See no purpose in the Scorpio. My ass can't afford no tesla, although I heard they were releasing a cheaper model.

I know its a long shot, but I skipped a much needed (kinda sorta) upgrade from the 6 plus to the 7 in hopes of rumors being true about the special edition iphone coming next year.

If that don't drop I might just settle for a 6s plus.

I got the 6S plus and haven't felt even the slightest urge to upgrade.

I really just want the extra ram and the faster processor.

The 6 plus only has 1 gig of ram and its starting to show its age (imo)

Used the 7 at target the other day and it was very noticeable to me how much faster it was due to the a11. Also opened a ton of apps and safari didn't refresh :blessed:
