whats a good cast iron skillet been wanting to buy one

The ones at Cracker Barrel (lol, I'm serious) hold up pretty well, my aunt copped one back in 2002 and that shyt still going strong (RIP Auntie..) to this day.

Make sure you season and clean it right, though. Too many people fukk themselves up and ruin the taste of food, using dirty/unseasoned skillets and then wanna go for that Non stick weird coating shyt and wonder why their steaks and stews never come out as good as others who use this invaluable apparatus.

I don't like too many gagdets in my kitchen. outside of the coffee maker everything has to be cooked by the oven or the burners on the oven. No Toasters, fryers, pressure cookers etc allowed. Nothing else that requires a plug. But a good knife set is mandatory. and an iron skillet is a must too.

It just makes shyt soooooo much easier. Ain’t no excuse to not know how to cook these days. The appliances do most the work.

Throw some cream, onions, seasoning, beef, broth, sour cream, stew meat or vegan meat, mushrooms and potatoes in an instapot. So easy!

I feel you. I made some stew chicken with onions & potatoes a couple weeks ago in my instantpot that was nuts. Made some rice & linguine to throw on it & ate good for a few days.

Made teriyaki garlic wings in my air fryer for the first time in my life & you couldn’t tell me nothing lol. You got me wanting to make some more

I dunno. All of mine are from like the 1600s:russ::mjlol:

Them skillets has been used to prepare food for at LEAST 4 generations. Us, my parents, grandparents, great grandparents.

To tell u how country I am. When the pots got too much residue on them, we would burn them in barrels in the country...:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol: You can also grease em and put em in oven facedown too.
I just know I’ve always seen and had them in our kitchens.

I don’t have a coffee maker anymore b/c I’m hoity toity about my coffee. So I use a French press. It’s so good and no need for filters either.
