He basically just took the whole record . . how did he not get sued for this?

Not only did they jack the instrumental, and as far as production"Toss It Up" is much better then Dr. Dre's "No Diggity" and the song is much better because of Tupac's presence but they took the whole damn song all the way down to the format and just threw Tupac on the verses, the song practically lifts everything down to the structure

"Gotta bag it up" >>>>> "Let me see you toss it up"

Also let's talk about the diss to Dre

"No longer Dre Day, arrivederci
Blown and forgotten, rotten for plottin Child's Play
Check your sexuality, as fruity as this Alize
Quick to jump ship, punk trick, what a dumb move
Cross Death Row, now who you gon' run to?
Lookin for suckers cause you similar
Pretendin to be hard, oh my God, check your temperature (He said "Check your temperature" to Dr. Dre" - :pachaha: - this line goes overlooked because it's so subtle)
Screamin Compton, but you can't return, you ain't heard
Brothers pissed cause you switched and escaped to the burbs"

did you know that Death Row quietly did an outta court settlement on a sexual abuse case involving a child? . . notice Dre didn't seem to put up much a fuss about giving up his stake in a hundred million dollar company and the rights to his records to Suge. The way it sounds Suge just showed up on his door like . . sign this :birdman:

the original verison of toss it up pac rapped over the no diggity beat because dr.dre made the beat while he was still signed to death row and interscope

so when he left death row he sold it to blackstreet that is why they sound similar.

Ya . . that's what happened but it's not like the it was mere coincidence that the song is basically a complete lift, down to the R&B features and even the whole structure. The premise nearly exactly the same "Toss It Up vs. "Bag It Up" . . I'm asking as a fan and as a song producer myself why was Tupac's single a lift of Dre's single? and how did he get a pass for this?

What's there to question here? It's the exact same song with more fullness in the production. It's like No Diggity + the addition of a few more tracks in production . . what's hard to see there?

I'll give you Pac's verses over Andre's ghostwritten verse... but the No Diggity beat shyts all over Toss Em Up, no wiping necessary.

This August Suge Knight will be released from a federal correctional facility after serving the second of two sentences for assault and conspiracy to possess a weapon. When I visited him in Mule Creek State Prison this winter, the rap czar seemed to feel as though a cosmic vengeance had been wreaked upon him for all the Death Row rappers his mob of lawyers had managed to keep out of jail. On his fingers, Knight enumerated them: "Nate Dogg, three Taco Bell robberies, and he's ID'd in two of 'em--he should have been in for 15. Snoop Dogg, 25-to-life on murder; we got him off scott free. And Dre should have done about eight on battery and vehicle stuff." And then there was the experience of paying off the parents of an 11-year-old girl raped by another of his former rappers. "This stuff has come home on me," the 34-year-old admitted

No Diggity is a stripped down Toss It Up . . it's the exact same thing but "Toss It Up" has a few additional production tracks. If anything "No Diggity" ends up sounding like a stripped down Toss It Up, or Toss It Up before it's completed

we hear that "Mmmm" singing vocal in the No Diggity" instrumental through each bar

and we hear the deeper "uuuuuooooh!" in the background, which is especially funny when you think of it as Suge Knight :mjlol:

diss track, club track, and r&b track for the chicks all in one

Only Pac could make a song like that.

It's basically "How Do You Want It" Part 2 . . which is Temptations Part 2

Then Jimmy Iovine was like "how do we get another crossover hit for 50 Cent" and "Amusement Park" is basically "How Do You Want It" (50 Cent version)
