"Trae Tha Truth has found out that he won’t be facing assault charges after his alleged “beatdown” of fellow rapper Z-Ro.

According to TMZ, the Houston native (real name Frazier Thompson III) had his charges dropped after he completed a “diversion program,” which was what was needed to fully dismiss the charges against him.

What’s more, Trae told the outlet that he will continue to give back to the Houston community at large, as he feels it’s his “God-given mission” to do so. He also promised that he will stay out of further trouble so he can continue his larger mission.

Last December, FOX 26 Houston reported that Trae was charged with a misdemeanor for assault causing bodily injury over the scuffle, which happened after a celebrity basketball game hosted by 50 Cent in Houston, Texas in August that same year.

A video of the 42-year-old rapper turning himself into authorities circulated online on December 30, showing onlookers embracing him as he walked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center in Houston, and was released shortly thereafter.

The fight in question took place outside a restaurant in August 2022. Footage of the incident showed several men kicking and punching Z-Ro, who was curled up in a ball on the ground.

Trae Tha Truth could be seen restraining the men attacking Z-Ro, before he and his entourage appeared to make verbal threats until police ultimately intervened.

Z-Ro spoke with TMZ about the incident and claimed Trae and his entourage ambushed him.

“[I was] minding my business and when I walked outside, I’m called over to the side of sprinter van and [Trae] was like, ‘Ay, when you get finished doin’ that, come take this walk with me right quick,” he said.

“I was like, ‘You talkin’ to me?’ I had to make sure he was talking to me ’cause I mean, I see you everywhere, you see me everywhere. So when I walked over there, the only thing I saw after that was this [gestures to being punched in the face].”

Trae refuted Z-Ro’s claim, explaining that they had spoken the day after the fight and blamed it on family drama that had been brewing for years.

“It wasn’t no 7-on-1 situation. It wasn’t no blindside ambush. That’s not what this is. This is family business, internal stuff that’s been going on for 10, 15 years that’s probably been building up and just spilled over into shyt,” Trae said in a since-deleted Instagram video.

Days after Trae’s comments, TMZ shared a video that disputed his version of what happened that night. In the clip, Trae, along with four other people, appear to attack Z-Ro and take his gold chain."
