As everyone has stated throughout this thread, it's the fact he's speaking like he's some veteran who's had a decade-long playoff run. He and his team have only been to the playoffs once. He's only saying this because his team has a losing record.

The list goes on. Players move around so much that there is no cohesion.
Young players come in and if they're not feeling the team, they pout and leave.

And players make so much money now a days without having to put in a full season, it's no wonder they don't care about the regular season.
Karl Anthony Towns will have made almost $200 million before he turns 27. Has never been to the playoffs and by the time his contract is up after the 23-24 season, in all likely hood it still won't have made it. You think he cares about the regular season? You think he cares at all? No incentive. Why would he?
