EXCLUSIVE: Antoine Fuqua’s Training Day is heading to television. I hear Fuqua has teamed with producer Jerry Bruckheimer for a series adaptation of his popular 2001 feature, which starred Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. The hot package, from Warner Bros TV, whose sibling Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures were behind the movie, is being shopped to the broadcast networks. I hear all of the Big 4 are taking the pitch for the project written by Will Beall.

I hear it was Fuqua’s idea to do the neo-noir crime thriller as a TV series. He approached WBTV and also brought on board studio-basedJerry Bruckheimer TV and Beall. Fuqua is executive producing and will likely direct the potential pilot, written by Beall, who has feature (Gangster Squad), television (Castle) and police background as a former LAPD detective.

The Shield is pretty much Training Day the TV series... the main characters are both based around the same person.

But who knows... if they go by a book like LAbrynth.. it might work.
who was Ethan hawke's character suppose to be exactly, Terry Crowley :why:

I'm not quite sure who they based Ethan Hawks character or Terry Crowly off of. I know Alonzo Harris and Vic Mackey are based on Rafael Perez.. The Shield/Strike Force is based around the anti gang unit akaCRASH. Except The Shield whitewashed the characters they base them on. One of the main things that brought them down was a bank robbery they were involved in and the crazy part is none of them snitched on each other or where they put the money.. But them guys were also extorting gangs like 18th street for drugs and money... The book LAbrynth goes into great detail about the history of corruption, politics, and racism within the LAPD and how that shyt devolved into the CRASH unit.

A great quick run down tho from wikipedia..
