you can't get away from music sounding more interesting with actual instrumentation. whether authentic or sampled.

trap beats just "original" 2 bar loops and strings that all sound the same and are easily forgettable soon as the next hot trap beat and ignorant rapper comes along.

I love sampling but Im starting to think Rick James was right on sampling in hip hop. We gotta evolve past relying on sampling other peoples music and make our own.
