DJ Scratch was connected with a lot of the big time drug dealers from NY in the 80s-90s. He’s the reason EPMD was held down but gangsters enough to confront Rakim about their static.

The Hoover’s he was with aren’t crip they Hoover criminals. Hoover’s outside of 52 Hoggs ain’t been crips since the 80s but the politics may have changed

I had no idea. This single post gives insight on why the whole kurupt/Dmx & ja Rule beef was over quickly. I always found it in interesting that a guy like DMX never gave a “proper” response but it was deaded behind the scenes.

Supreme - “tell Kurupt to cut it out “
Snoop - “ we got you big homie”

*beef over*

But yet heres Snoop

A lot of people don't know that Supreme used to hold down the Dogg Pound when they came to NY. Surprised Tray Deee mentioned that.
were they holding him and the dogg pound down when they got shot or after?

Originally checkin in was for street dudes, so when you went OT whoever was head would know that you were just visiting for whatever reason and not coming in town to set up shop and step on nobody money. That's how connects and networks were made.

Rappers took it to a whole nother level, with that paying tax, extortion, robbery ish...if you're in town, just on business and simply an entertainer, why would you care about some street rules on a back block that has nothing to do with your money.
