Maybe allot of the older users should start shedding light on the other hip hop moguls that have done just as much as Shawn Carter, if not more. I'm a huge Jay fan but I watched his rise from rap star to business man but I also watched others do the same thing during his run and they don't get the same exposure or respect he does.

Where is the Master P, J. Prince love on the coli? Independent moguls who came from the bottom and transitioned into season entrepreneurs. If there both two "typical" where is the Easy E, Ice Cube love? Easy was ahead of time and I never see him get his proper respect. Now he didn't have the longevity that some of the others I mentioned had but Cube was able to take to another level.

Cube was the star in NWA, had a very successful music career and started a very successful film company. Brian & Slim Williams studied Master P's blueprint has arguably created one of the biggest dynasties that have become a staple in the rap game. Allot of these men have run labels that have been more successful than Roc-a-fella. They moved more units, pushed/broke more artists and lasted longer.

Hell Puffy is more successful than Jay-Z. Did I miss something? I love Shawn's music but the over-glorification should be analyzed

I don't want to take anything away from him but lets be real he has allot of areas he could improve on.

He still can't successfully scout and break an artist.

For all the Meek Mill hype last year, Hov was said to have played some sort of "unofficial A&R" role with Dreams & Nightmares and the album was "meh"

You're like a fakkit questioning the gay agenda in the media. You couldn't even make a thread to "shed light" on the guys that you named without mentioning Jay Z. You have to get off Jay's dikk first before you whine about others supposedly being on it.

And you didn't have to make this thread, you could've kept these meaningless thoughts to yourself. My post was a significant contribution. The truth is always helpful. If you really wanted to give shine to hiphop entrepreneurs not named Jay Z, then making Jay Z the focal point of your thread was a stupid idea. I'm helping you out.

Rap-a-lot & Cashmoney are still alive and well. The CEOs of each label are still very active in the music industry? No, did I miss something? Puffy is still making business moves and creating ventures.

I just don't see the same fascination with the other moguls. I'm not stanning I actually want to discuss it.

So do you think that the fascination with Jay Z is all about what he has done as an entrepreneur? You don't think that the other aspects of his fame is why he's more popular with the general public than say a guy like Master P? Come on man, tell us how clueless you really are.

So you do want to engage?

What makes him more popular? Is it the ability to act as a chamillion and adapt to trends in the market or hip hop game? Ice Cube is still very popular an so is Bryan "birdman" Williams. Sean combs is very popular and worth more than Shawn carter but even he doesn't get the same respect for his credentials.

Why do I feel like no one has done better Jay z?

Because they haven't?

What point are you trying to prove here?

Because they aren't popular right now.

J. Prince never really shined on nikkas like that on a nationwide level because... well, I'm not going to talk about why J. Prince is low key on a nationwide level.

Master P's time in the spotlight has come and gone.

Diddy's known now more for jerking his artists right now.

Need I go on?

Hov is the RAPPER that made it. Still making music. friends with the president. Married to Beyonce.

Hov won as much as Nas lost.

Think about that for a second.

And that's not taking anything away from them other dudes, but yeah.
