I don't know if I'd agree with their assessment of "disaster" but several cable companies do not have deals yet and apparently people aren't flocking to pay $30 if they already have ESPN in their cable package.
My recommendation to people is still just use a VPN through Netflix to bypass everything.

Being a sports network in the US, one would think the streaming app would be necessary. Yet you look at the nfl and no games are exclusively on there. Same for NBA and even NHL. Agree that there's no reason to pay for a channel included in cable package. Not to mention all the other channels they own.
Not sure what they have in mind but don't know if the full terms of the contract gonna be completed if the subscribers numbers look low thru the start. ESPN already spent the money tho, and I'm sure they'll raise prices if need be to recuperate, which is an issue WWE fans are already dealing with. That's considering the fact that the Saudis wouldn't have taken over everything by then and moved every show over to Riyadh on their own streaming network.
