This is why I don’t take the IWC serious on the Gunther hate

And and reminder KURT ANGLE’s last match was against BARON fukkING CORBIN:beli: Gunther vs Cena will be at minimum a good match

Melo needs a feud now.. they’ve rehabbed him with the face turn, and his performances got him over to the point where he’s getting chants every time he wrestles

Keep that momentum going. Put a mic in his hands and have him cut promos in front of a live crowd. That’s where he shines most imo… and put him in some type of mid card feud. I can care less about a title, just feature him. Put him in storylines with clear direction that are a featured part of the shows on Fridays

Just having really good matches is a start and a nice way to re-establish that he’s like that in the ring, but it’s not sustainable if you want people to continue to care. Need a story

I don't think anyone is hating on Gunther as much as it's the most boring and needless booking decision they could have made. No angle, but a tournament for Cena's last match, and they pick the guy who has been full time Brock Lesnar for 6 years straight, who just did the retire a legend thing a few months ago, and it is clear WWE has nothing big planned for him going into WM season anyway.

Nah. Let’s keep it a buck and not do gymnastics. We know what’s happening. They’re 100% hating on Gunther and it’s specifically because the spot didn’t go to the guy they wanted, whether it be some random NXT nikka or LA Knight..

Wrestling fans are like that. They want to control everything from who wrestles to the outcomes of the matches. In their minds Gunther already has his turn at the top so it should be someone else’s turn now, which is ass backwards. wrestling has never worked that way

The whole “someone younger should beat Cena!” bs doesn’t check out because the hottest young act in the company, 20 something year old Dirty Dom, just beat the nikka a week ago and they hated that too.

That's not what I've seen. Gunther been a mega internet darling for like 12 years. Maybe specific WWE only IWC smarks or something.

They always start off that way. Seth Rollins was an IWC darling at one point. So was Cody Rhodes.

The IWC has a weird savior complex. They love you when you’re down. They’ll scream injustice and go to war for you when they feel like you’re not pushed to their liking, but once you’re up.. that turn is quick. They’ll toss you aside for the next victim they wanna play hero for. Then once THAT person is up, they’ll move to the next underdog and so on.. It’s a cycle.

And that's why I've stopped engaging with the IWC.

Outside of this site I’ve pretty much given up on that too. I be tired of oppression Olympics. Everyone a victim because their favorite guy ain’t the main character. I saw a muhfukka screaming justice for Tyler fukking Bate recently. The conversations this fictional tv show be spawning is truly insanity to me

I remember when people were crashing out because he had a short IC title run. Now they want him to die lol

Getting pushed is the quickest way to get the IWC to hate you. You have to lose often for them to get behind you. Super weird dynamic

I think people want a cycling door at the top where everyone gets a turn at championship run before handing it off to the next man. Wrestling historically has never been that way and will never be that way

Has there anybody in history that escaped the IWC? I remember even in the 90s people started complaining about Austin being repetitive and he was red hot

I honestly don't know. I wasn't really cognizant of it until the John Cena era but I'm sure its probably been like this forever. the popularity and normality of social media just kinda magnifies it to a much higher degree now.

when I was growing up, I used to love certain undercard guys like Jericho, RVD, Christian, etc. and I wanted them to be Champ, but I never hated the main eventers out of spite because my guys were underneath.. but I feel like now more than ever you see an influx of hate for people positioned near the top and its specifically because their "guy" isn't the beneficiary of said wrestlers push..

as bad as Jey Uso can be, we all know the main root of the hatred he receives is specifically because people feel their guy, whether it be LA Knight, Montez Ford, Drew McIntyre (etc) isn't getting the push he is. its a weird resentment because in their world another wrestler should be the one who's over and getting pushed, not him. its super corny to me lol.
