tropical wedding attire advice

im going to a wedding at a beach resort next monday in DR.

its not going to be on the beach, but in a garden. my question is, what should i wear? im thinking khaki slacks and one of those 4 pocket white shirts, like this one

but im not sure if thats too casual.

im sure i could figure this out using google but i figured since im on the coli at work all day anyway, might as well ask my coli brehs.

i was thinking along the same lines, but since it wont be on the beach im thinking maybe shoes. its in a garden and then dinner and dancing in a private room.

How close are you to the wedding party? first step should be asking the couple getting married what they have in mind. i'd go with a tropical weight, light colored linen suit unless the couple is absolutely against it, though they shouldn't be.

and don't wear fukking sandals.

its my wife's cousin. i dont think there are any restrictions on what we can wear or she woulda told me. i know the wedding colors are coral and red cause its supposed to go down at sunset. i think i might go with a light blue shirt and some khakis. what color shoes would go best with that?

the wedding colors shouldn't ever factor in, and not that you said it, but neither should what your date wears.

anything brown is a lock. burgundy or tan could also work depending on the shade. derbys or loafers since the rest of your outfit is casual.

if you can bring a light weight sports coat, i'd do it. it's better to have it and park it on a chair than wish you had it and not.

Shirt- If it was me I would cop a me a jiggy ass, thin ass, silky ass, eric benet type dress shirt.
And to make it official I would have my shyt unbuttoned to reveal a lil taco meat action feel me?









Pants- Gimme some light or white linen joints, I wouldn't rock any drawers wit them...so when the light hit them at the right angle u could get a sneak peak of what yogurt was twerking wit .



Shoes-I would rock some toms or some arab sandals, let ya feet hang out homey...it's the fukkin beach nigggga.

tan linen pants. White (or whatever color) linen shirt. Anything from brown slip ons, to brown leather flip flops/sandals, to white/tan chuck taylors (seriously ... these would be fine for an island wedding with the right outfit).

I got married in jamaica. I was broke at the time, so I wore a regular suit. Bad decision. Been to a few such weddings since, and a million trips to the islands. Keep it casual.

Decided to go with some cream colored slacks, a light blue dress shirt and some tan shoes with a tan belt. The dude at the store recommended it and when I tried it on I loved how it looked. Also, the ceremony is in a garden but the reception is in a big room with a dance floor. The bride suggested something more dressy casual for the reception. Ima bring some ties too in case others wear them, but no jacket necessary.

Yea im not really a fan of that but I'm only bringing the ties in case. Not gonna buy a cream colored jacket tho its too hot for that shyt. It's only gonna end up on a chair
