The right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way
You wanna take the physicality, bad intentions, two-a-days, and haymakers out of the game while also employing RBs at QB PLUS overemphasizing flags to give the offense a distinct advantage?

This is what you get. The majority of us fell in love with this game due to its barbaric nature, and moreso because the barbaric nature wasn't just a show of caveman machismo but an actual building block to teams and game plans overall.

And while we've always loved QBs with some elctrifying flair to their game, I don't think real football fans ever wanted to see athleticism replace the skillset of a QB sitting back in the pocket and surgically dissecting a defense. Randall Cunningham, Steve Young, and Steve McNair is what we wanted, not the Justin Fields and Anthony Richardsons of the world.

Fukk your CTE. I want my football back, and I say that as both a former collegiate player from the very physical 90s / early 2000s era and as unapologetically as can be.

Adam Silver saw the writing on the wall with all the OGs retiring, also seeing how the fans have felt about the officiating and made all those streaming/tv deals.

After watching a sport for years you can't fool people on quality.

My Pops Forever RIP
To me the real problem is that every year the league fukks up prime time game scheduling. Why are the Jets getting prime time games in 2025, when the league had no idea who the QB would be when they scheduled it? Why keep giving Cincy prime time games past week 1-3, knowing that Burrow is constantly hurt before the bye week? Why has Miami gotten multiple prime time games this year?

The greed of the league is why TNF exists, and that shyt constantly siphons decent matchups that could have been on MNF. For whatever reason the league treats MNF like shyt. Sure, last week's game (Detroit/Baltimore) was great, followed by two trash matchups yesterday lol. And next Monday? Chiefs vs Jacksonville. Meanwhile TNF is Rams v Niners lol. They're diluting the product because people keep tuning in.

SNF/MNF scheduling should be like football curation. Big matchups. Big QBs. Big stories. If you aren't at the big boy table, or you don't have a compelling story...you shouldn't be in the fukking schedule. Which means no Jets, no Jags, no fukking Raiders, etc.
:francis:
Because it's third in priority compared to SNF and America's Game of the Week.

The other issue is that teams are mostly capped in terms of how many prime time games you can get (that way, the Cowboys aren't showcased to the world every single week, which the NFL would love to do if they could).

People: The NFL product is bad

Real World : Everybody associated with the NFL makes more money than they ever have and the NFL's ratings are higher than they ever have been.

"This product is so bad that people make the most money they have ever made producing it, people spend more money on it than ever before, and more people watch it than ever before in more places than before".

This rise is 100% due to Betting and Fantasy leagues

While what you say is true its clear they dont care. Its all bout eyeballs so NY teams no matter how shytty will get primetime slots. They arent even trying at this point. The Chiefs have played Philly, NY, and BMore the last 3 weeks. Only one game was in primetime and it wasnt BMore or Philly. You got two Monday night games and Eagles/Bucs aint one? They dont care and honestly most fans dont either. It is what it is.

The NFL knows fans will watch regardless. They can put 2 garbage teams out there and two 3rd string quarterbacks could be starting and fans would still be like:blessed:

And I have always hated Thursday night games. Shít is pure greed. I check the scores, but I rarely watch TNF. CFB on Saturday and NFL on Sun/Mon is more than enough for me.

I don't really have a favorite NFL team, so I just wanna see good football. I don't wanna see a team put up 0 yards from scrimmage in a half, yet still win. I'm not even saying they have to score in the half, but not gaining any yds????:wtf:

And I KNOW what that team is capable of. Shít, they might repeat

I can't even come up with an NBA equivalent to that:pachaha:

I wonder if the posters here will respond the same way they do when 90s NBA stars trash the current product :sas1:
They won't, they'll just say Aikman was never that good and was a game manager/bus driver
