Tech was supposed to the so-called safe industry where one could just climb the ladder and never want for anything, and we're seeing layoffs across the board. Highly specialized, educated SMEs with 20 years of experience got the boot within the last four months. So much for stability.
If STEM workers can get axed, no industry is safe. What are you as a trucker going to do when another economic crisis/raw material shortage occurs and you can't get loads to carry or you have to compete with every other truckers scrambling to get a job?
If my daughter or niece is a grown ass adult and she can pay her bills, pay her taxes and live a fulfilling life, than more power to her because guess what, she's a grown ass adult. Yes, the little kids you see today will grow up to be self actualized adults with their own motivations and goals, some that you are aligned with and others not so much.
