Steel is one of the worst loads you can carry. It shifts all the time if not loaded correctly. Beams are supposed to be tied down to wood blocks or 2x4’s and strapped. The Wood gives it something to bite into. Also supposed to check the straps frequently. Looks like this trailer didn’t have that big steel retaining wall that would have prevented the beam going thru the trailer.
