Brehs...I read a lot of horror books, but none spooked me as much as the investigations done by former police officer David Paulides.

He has two books covering people who go missing under STRANGE circumstances. So many cases he had to split the books up into East and West America. Said Florida and Texas have so many they require their own books.

Now when I say strange, the case must meet certain criteria in order to be included. This criteria includes a requirement that human criminal activity isnt suspect.

Im on a Tab right now and cant link the youtube. I'll hook that up when I get the chance. But look up Missing 411 if you feel like being shook.

Interested in hearing more about this. I've read a lot about different kinds of disappearances. Most were on account of human activity, either foul play or people simply walking away from their lives..it's all fascinating.

Mr. Paulides says that when he approaches National Parks asking for a spreadsheet or log of all the missing people from their park...he gets nothing but deflected. He finally nailed one park down and they got around him by saying they would require $34K for the report.

What he eludes too is that the parks are aware something is going on but don't want it to get out because it will scare the public from going. Well...after hearing his accounts...I'LL NEVER TAKE MY FAMILY TO A NATIONAL PARK!!!

care to share his best stories or nah?

One of the stories he's told often: The Martin kid.

A family consisting of the father, mother, grandfather, and two kids, can't remember the exact ages but it was like 8 and 4. They were in the mountains of Kentucky, the national park. A little after noon, they were having a picnic with another family they met along the trail. The kids were playing not even 10 meters from the adults. They were playing a loose game of hide and seek.

So the two brothers hide behind trees, rather non-efficiently because the dad says he can see them. The 8 year old comes out "ha, ha, hear I am". The 2 year old never comes out. Now....you have to hear the actual account but...from what the dad says his son only left his sight for a second when he was walking behind this bush to come out. Like when you walk to come out and have to pass a bush, takes only a second.

Dad says he immediately ran over to the bush and looked...nothing...son never came out. No sound or nothing. Of course he goes crazy, raises the alarm and everyone begins calling for the kid and running all over looking for Martin. Dad and granddad ran up and down the path for hours. Never found him.

They called in the Park Rangers and the weird part, they also called in Special Forces. They never found a sign of that little boy.

Weird part...when is the Special Forces EVER called in for domestic missing persons? I can answer that...NEVER that I've heard of and I'm quite familiar with the Army.

Second spooky part...when the kid disappeared, there was another family about 2 miles away hiking. They paused for a minute because they saw...something running, zig sagging behind trees, carrying what looked like a small child on its shoulder. The man said it looked like a bear, but it was running on two legs. They reported this to the FBI who were called in, but the FBI never included this in their report.

Last thing, Mr. Paulides found that the FBI agent who was in charge of writing of the reports for a lot of these missing cases in National Parks indeed killed himself.
