AOL/AIM and MySpace kept us well fed in the late 90s/early 2000s
I think it was the novelty of it.
Come home after work and line something up for the evening just based on MySpace "who's online"
EVERYONE was eating
When Facebook came through and crushed the MySpace building it was cool at first, again the novelty
But then the change came where screen names like "xSexyCubanax" became a thing of the past
Then the dating apps bushed Zuckbook
I suppose Tik Tok is keeping young brehs fed nowadays

No one knew what social media was or would become. Our generation has been through every phase of the internet - we were actually part of the first “wave” of social media with MSN, AOL, Yahoo chat to MySpace, Blackplanet and hell even boards like AHH and SOHH and the tons that existed across the internet were part of that first wave of social media.

But now it’s become….. a beast of its own and will only continue to divide and manipulate us as the Elite see the power it serves as a tool in society. Before it was used to just connect with friends across the internet and fukk around. We know how deep it is now and I think it’ll get even deeper with the advancements in AI. There’s a new social networking platform that doesn’t exist yet that will come out and alter our reality even more the way IG/Twitter/FB and even Tik Tok to some degree already has.

Absolutely. I think about it often. Just simple things like having a breakup. Breh lmao I would’ve been a mess had social media existed back then . Stalking her page and shyt when I should’ve been doing homework.

My daughter isn’t old enough to be on yet but it’s something I’m worried about. Her mom been posting them together in pics so she’s keenly aware of what it is. I’m actually usually the lax parent but on this Imma probably have to be a tyrant. Social media is having a lot of adverse affects on kids.
